In Wola district, at Grzybowska street, the construction of new, luxurious hotel was finished lately. Hotel Hilton does not exceed the height of 100 metres, but despite that, it is worth attention.
The building's elevation was made of different materials, it is partly ceramic, partly aluminium and partly aluminium-glass. The skyscraper has 28 floors over the ground, 314 hotel rooms are situated on them. The cost of renting a room is from 150 euros, and of an apartment - even over 400 euros! Inside the building, apart from the rooms, also 2 bars, restaurant, fitness center, swimming pool and 14 conference rooms are located. One of them is really big - for 1500 people. Under the ground there is a car park with 1150 parking places. The estimated cost of whole investment is approximately 53 million euros.
The construction of Hilton Hotel was moving very fast, what is actually nothing special with this kind of investments. The cornerstone was laid on 19th of September 2004, the construction reached the roof on 21st of July 2005 and the official opening of the hotel (which was put off a few times) took place on 19th of March 2007.
In the nearest future more high-rise buildings will be constructed in this area. Hilton is only the first of the complex of four about 90-metre-high buildings that will be built by the company Atlas Estates. You can read some more about the rest of them here. And on the other side of Grzybowska street also another apartment house, of a similar height will rise up, you can find more information about it here.

Grzybowska street - that name is really hard to translate, the simplest translation would be just Mushroom street, but that would not be exact enough; the name Grzybowska came from name of a kind of private small town Grzybow, that used to exist in this place; it was founded in 17th century by magnate Jan Grzybowski - whose name apparently came from grzyb - mushroom; so the name Grzybowska came from mushroom also but not directly :)
